Yes? Then Girls Action Foundation’s media arts workshop is for you!
Girls Action Foundation works with community groups and organizations who are interested in offering media arts training to strengthen their initiatives for girls and young women from ethno-cultural communities.
Our media arts workshop initiates girls and young women to a wide variety of mediums including;
Girls Action’s team includes a media arts trainer as well as mentors from your communities to provide support and training. Working alongside your facilitators, the participants will acquire the skills to produce and promote their very own media arts pieces. Our media arts trainer will produce, edit, assist with the equipment, promotion and communication to recruit mentors and even find a space, if needed.
Types of workshops: Workshops can be held on your premises or in our space
1. Media Arts camp for girls: offered during the March study week *
3-5 days of workshops / 3 hours per day.
2. Series of workshops (from 3 to 6 sessions) *
Once a week for 3 to 6 weeks / 1 hour to 2 hours per session
3. Intensive workshop *
A one-day or half-day format delivered during the week, at night or on weekends.
The media arts projects created will be showcased on our website Kickaction.ca and shared with thousands of young women from across Canada (check out Somos Latinas and Libres et Épanouies from last year’s workshops).
* We offer a flexible schedule to be determined with your organization according to your needs and programming. There workshops are offered at no charge to you, all we require is your energy and inspiration!
